From one application to funding
Fair Square collects information about your business, matches it with the lender criteria it fits and shows you every offer side by side. Approval and funding are never guaranteed, and nothing is binding until you sign the final documents.

What you share when you apply
Complete the online application with accurate information about your business and its owners or authorized signers. You'll need:
- Your last three months of business bank statements
- Business details: legal name, address, tax ID and start date
- Owner details: name, contact information, ownership percentage and a photo ID
- What the funding is for
Fair Square is for U.S. business funding only, not personal or consumer credit. To apply, you must be 18 or older and authorized to act for the business. Applying is free and creates no obligation.
What may be requested
Depending on your application, Fair Square or a funding partner may ask for other documents, such as:
- Identification for owners or authorized signers
- Credit information
- Proof that you own the business bank account
- Business records, such as formation documents, tax returns or financial statements
- A list of current loans, leases, advances and other obligations
The exact list comes from the partner. Our document checklist helps you get organized, but follow the partner's actual request if it's different.
How your information is verified
Fair Square and our funding partners may verify what you provide with banks, credit bureaus, references, public records, fraud-prevention services and identity-verification services. Partners may review business and personal credit as part of their decision.
To evaluate, process, fund or service your request, your information may be shared with prospective funders, lenders, brokers and service providers. Our privacy policy explains what is collected and who receives it.
Send bank statements, IDs and other sensitive documents only through the official application. General email is not a secure way to send them.
How your options come together
Your advisor matches your business with the criteria of the funding partners it fits. A match is not an approval. Each partner does its own underwriting and verification, and the product, partner, amount, pricing, fees, payment schedule and availability all depend on that review.
Offers come back side by side: amount, payback, payment and total cost. You choose one, or walk away.
What to read in the written offer
Calculator results, pre-qualification messages and proposed terms are not binding, and they may change or be withdrawn. Before you sign, find these in the written documents:
- The funding partner named in the agreement, and who will service the account.
- The amount your business will actually receive.
- The total you'll pay back.
- The payment amount, how often it's taken and the term.
- Every fee, and what happens if you pay early.
- Any guarantee, security interest or collateral, and what counts as a default.
Ask about any term you don't understand before you accept. The cost calculator turns an offer into dollars so you can compare.
When an agreement becomes binding
A funding agreement is binding only after your business and the funding partner sign the final closing documents. Until then, any estimate or proposed term can change. Once the documents are signed, the money is sent according to those documents and the partner's final approval.
