Editorial policy
The standards used to prepare, review, source and update Fair Square Funding's educational business funding guides, and how a possible error is reported and corrected.
Effective November 6, 2026
1. Purpose and scope
Fair Square Funding publishes general educational content to help business owners understand funding terminology, compare common structures, organize application materials and identify questions to ask before signing an agreement. A guide is not an offer, approval decision, legal opinion, accounting advice or recommendation for a particular business.
2. Publication
Fair Square Funding publishes its educational guides. Each guide displays the date it was last updated.
3. Sources and factual claims
Our editorial policy is to use primary government, regulator and program sources when they are available and relevant, link readers to those sources, and distinguish general market explanations from facts about Fair Square Funding. Product descriptions must defer to the applicable written offer and final agreement.
Guides should not state unverified eligibility thresholds, prices, approval promises, funding times, customer outcomes or professional credentials. Calculators and examples must identify their assumptions and educational limitations.
4. Review before publication
Before publication or a substantive update, content is reviewed for source support, internal consistency, plain-language clarity and alignment with Fair Square Funding's disclosures and legal policies. The review also checks that educational explanations are not presented as individualized financial, legal or tax advice.
5. Updates and corrections
Material updates are reflected in the date shown on the guide. If a factual error is identified, the content is reviewed against the cited or controlling source and corrected where appropriate. See the corrections policy below for how to report an issue and how corrections are handled.
6. Corrections policy
Report a possible error
Email info@fairsquarefunding.com with the subject “Content correction.” Include the page URL, the passage you believe is inaccurate, why it may be incorrect and any primary source that supports the report.
How reports are reviewed
The passage is checked against the cited source, the controlling government or regulator material where applicable, and Fair Square Funding's published disclosures or policies when the statement concerns the company. A disagreement about a general conclusion is distinguished from a verifiable factual error.
How corrections appear
When a factual error is confirmed, the page is corrected and its update date is revised. A substantial correction may also be described on the page when that context helps readers understand what changed. Minor spelling, grammar, formatting or link repairs may be made without a separate correction note.
No fixed response deadline
Review time depends on the issue and the sources needed to verify it. This policy does not promise a fixed response or publication deadline.
7. Questions about content
To ask about a guide or report a possible error, email info@fairsquarefunding.com and include the page URL and the passage at issue. General company and privacy contacts are listed on the contact page.
